Cape Town

Cape Town is the perfect mix between big city life, and nature. With the backdrop of one of the World’s Seven Wonders of Nature, Table Mountain, it has everything a holiday maker can hope for. The city itself is a melting pot of African and European flavours and architecture – the cultural melting pot of South Africa. It has an amazing culinary reputation, restaurants and cafes in high competition for local and international patrons.

The city centre is both contemporary and quirky. There are five star hotels, clubs, cocktail lounges and Michelin star restaurants. It also embraces its artistic side, with colourful cobbled side streets of Bo kaap, talented graffiti art exhibits in Woodstock and its funky markets with live music and local delicacies in Hout Bay and Oranjezicht. It is both healthy and decadent at the same time with a perspective of ‘support local’, most of its produce and dishes come from homegrown soil.

Landscape

Table Mountain National Park and its surrounds are breathtaking in nature. Stretching from the city bowl to the end of Cape Point, the mountain range and everything in between is steeped in biodiverse botanical wonder. The national park is a hikers dream landscape – from easy to advanced – it welcomes a range of exploration. Outdoor activities closer to the city offer a hike up Lions Head, parasailing off Signal Hill, surfing in Muizenburg or mountain biking at Constantia Nek.

The city satisfies a wide range of travel appetites – historical, cultural, culinary, outdoor and adrenaline. Cape Town is also a fantastic springboard to exploring the western Cape – along the garden route and beyond.
